Conducting Heavy Metals Comprehensive Monitoring Program and Training
Through this assignment the consultant will develop a comprehensive heavy metals baseline and monitoring program for the Gaza strip and carry out environmental awareness campaigns for the public aiming at increasing the population awareness regarding environmental -water related issues. As part of the consultant's duties, a training program for the CMWU lab technicians will also be developed and implemented.
- The study monitored heavy metals in Gaza ground water aquifer and determined the hot spots of heavy metals potential.
- Samples from many locations were taken and analyzed.
- Plan for heavy metal monitoring were modified and training program for CMWU concern staff were conducted in the Netherlands and Palestine

- To produce database for the heavy metals in close cooperation with CMWU and accordance to the international practices in this field
- To conduct a training program for CMWU laboratory and monitoring staff
- To conduct environmental awareness program regarding heavy metals impacts on the public health.
- Design a comprehensive program for heavy metals testing.
- Identify a list of heavy metals to be tested for the Water wells near
- Industrial sites, petrol stations and Gaza stations.
- Identify the sampling stations with clear GIS coordinates.
- Identify the frequency of testing of the parameters of each category.
- Design the Reporting system and laboratory forms.
- Develop TOR for the testing laboratory.
