Increasing the capacity of the Municipality of Abasan Al-Kabera to facilitate olive oil marketing in public and private sectors. A Geographic Information system and Spatial database was implemented in order to facilitate management activities. This project involved training of the municipality staff on using the developed system

- Conduct a comprehensive field survey to analyze the status of the Agricultural sector in Abasan Al-Kabira.
- Establish a spatial database which includes all details of the farmers, land details, type of plants, types of animals, etc.
- Construct a GIS agricultural map for Abasan Al-Kabira land showing the distribution of various elements of the Agricultural sector.
- Train the Municipality staff on utilizing and updating the established GIS database.
- Assist municipality of Abasan Al-Kabira in formation of an agricultural cooperative council and institutionalizing it’s work within the Municipality;
- Conduct awareness sessions to improve the productivity and quality of olive oil farming
Assist municipality of Abasan Al-Kabira in setting technical specification and selection criteria for olive trees with high productivity and oil quality to be cultivated by the project and the provision of on-site technical consulting for farmers.
